"Slumberland"
Slumberland has its origin in the condition between sleep and being awake, a neurological condition described as ”dreaming while awake” – or hypnagog dream. Part of your conscience is awake, you can observe the room you’re in, hear sounds etc, but on top of this you can project fragments of dreams – that might spin around thoughts you’ve had or impressions you might get there and then.
I’ve used realism, classical compositional technique and surrealism, to fuse everyday reality with the experience of dreams and the subconscious - to create a ‘hyper reality'. Both the background and models/objects are photographed separately. Background and foreground are in itself also put together from several separate images – or from individual images were I’ve only have applied rotation, mirroring and flipping.
